20 July 2024

The Department of Justice – National Coordination Center against Online Sexual Abuse or Exploitation of Children and Child Sexual Abuse or Exploitation Materials (DOJ-NCC-OSAEC-CSAEM), in collaboration with the Inter-Agency Council Against Trafficking (IACAT) Operation Center, the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), and the United States Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) have successfully turned over restitution checks to two survivor victims of online sexual abuse and exploitation.

The restitution, awarded by a U.S. court, marks a significant milestone in the ongoing fight against online sexual abuse and exploitation of children. The turnover ceremony took place in Bamban, Tarlac. NCC-OSAEC-CSAEM, IACAT, and DSWD also provided support to the victim-survivors in opening bank accounts and conducting financial literacy sessions in order for them to manage the restitution funds sustainably.

This initiative underscores the commitment of the DOJ-NCC-OSAEC-CSAEM and its partners to provide justice and support to victims of online sexual abuse and exploitation, ensuring they receive their due compensation to rebuild their lives.
