DOJ commemorates 127th Founding Anniversary

Commemorating 127 years of upholding the rule of law, accountability, fairness and truth, the Department of Justice (DOJ) will be holding a week-long founding anniversary celebration from 23-27 September 2024.

Kicking-off the celebration today is a performance  from the Bureau of Corrections (BuCor) Drum and Bugle Band for the opening ceremonies, an Interpretative Dance Contest for the Bagong Pilipinas Hymn and a welfare seminar for senior citizen employees of the DOJ.

A week-long Food and Merchandise Trade Fair, Sports Fest consisting of various games such as bowling, basketball, chess, darts and e-game mobile legends will be held for DOJ employees.

From 24-25 September, a government service caravan consisting of various government frontline services from the NBI, PhilHealth, PSA and PAG-IBIG will be available for employees and their relatives.

For the culmination of the 127th DOJ Founding Anniversary on 26 September, a Thanksgiving Mass and an Honorary Lunch where several years of dedication and service of Loyalty Awardees and Retirees will be honored.

On top of that is the unveiling of the photo of the very first Secretary of Justice of the Philippines, Severino Delas Alas. Justice Secretary Jesus Crispin "Boying" Remulla will be  delivering his Anniversary Message to the DOJ family during the culmination day.

"This anniversary is evidence to the DOJ's 127 years of unwavering commitment to upholding the principles of justice without fear, falter nor favor. May this landmark in upholding the Rule of Law serve as a constant reminder to all that the pursuit of justice is an endless journey which requires the collective efforts of us all. Again, a meaningful 127th Founding Anniversary to my hardworking colleagues," said Secretary Remulla.

To wrap-up the festivities, the Witness Protection, Security and Benefit Program (WPSBP) will also be hosting a blood-letting activity on 27 September in coordination with the Philippine Red Cross to help fellow Filipinos in dire medical need.
