In pursuit of the Department of Justice’s (DOJ) commitment to “Real Justice in Real Time,” the DOJ, through the DOJ Action Center, and its attached agencies, National Bureau of Investigation (NBI), Bureau of Immigration (BI), and Land Registration of Authority (LRA), graciously extended free government services to the local constituents of the Province of Camiguin.

This initiative was spearheaded by the DOJ Action Center Main Office, along with its Regional Offices from Region VII and X, under the direct supervision of Undersecretary Margarita N. Guttierez, in response to the hopeful request of the province’s Governor, Gov. Xavier Jesus D. Romualdo, to deliver legal aid and services to the people of Camiguin.

The conduct of the Katarungan Caravan in the island was cascaded to its local municipalities, through the officials and councils of the local barangays, which attracted several people flocking the event. On 23 February 25, at the province’s Provincial Capitol, a feat of 83 clients were recipients of the DOJ’s legal aid activity.

Gov. Xavier Jesus D. Romualdo even graced the event by making his personal appearance at the venue and met with the different officials of the present attached agencies. He expressed his full and great support to the conduct of the Katarungan Caravan in the province and assured extra attention to the needs of his constituents.

“This is public service at its finest, bridging the gaps between the State and the citizenry to deliver essential government services face-to-face in order to uphold our commitment of rendering Real Justice for All in Real Time,” said Justice Secretary Jesus Crispin “Boying” C. Remulla.

The success of the Katarungan Caravan was realized through the collaborative efforts of the teams of the Office of the Regional Prosecutor, headed by RP Merlynn Barola-Uy, Regional Prosecutor of Region X; the Office of the Provincial Prosecutor headed by, PP Rogel T. Dal, Provincial Prosecutor of Camiguin, DPP Lester S. Labiano, Deputy Provincial Prosecutor; Atty. Dante M. Aparte and. Atty. Avelino P.
