05 September 2024

Aiming to bring essential government services closer to the people, the Department of Justice (DOJ) engaged in another Bagong Pilipinas Serbisyo Fair (BPSF) in Davao City.

The 2-day BPSF event which runs from 5-6 September 2024 is spearheaded by the DOJ Action Center (DOJAC) under the supervision of Undersecretary Margarita N. Gutierrez and Assistant State Prosecutor Joan Carla Guevarra, Usec-in-Charge, and Program Director, respectively.

DOJAC Region XI rendered free legal services to the public such as providing legal advice and counselling, free notarization, and government referral/indorsement of cases to concerned government agencies.

Aside from free legal services, the DOJ tapped its attached agencies for the issuance/processing of National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) clearances, Land Registration Authority (LRA) help desk for land title concerns, Bureau of Immigration (BI) tourist visa/citizenship and exit clearance matters and the legal services of the Public Attorneys Office (PAO).

Regional Prosecutor (RP) Janet Grace B. Dalisay-Fabrero took the lead in bringing the services of the Region XI Prosecution Offices to its walk-in clients rendering free legal assistance, answering queries concerning the filing of criminal cases and other similar services.

“Our goal in the DOJ is to create a lasting and positive impact by taking the initiative in extending our helping hand to every Filipino in need,” Justice Secretary Jesus Crispin Boying Remulla said.

“Government service is a matter of public trust and there is no better way to prove our trustworthiness other than giving back to the people who placed us here,” the Secretary added.

The most recent BPSF was conducted at the Lima Park, Batangas City last 24-25 August 2024.

The DOJAC, pursuant to Department Order 618 dated 04 September 2024, was designated as the focal office for all BPSF activities under the direct supervision of Usec Gutierrez.

As such, DOJAC is authorized to conduct Kataungan Caravan in support of the BPSF.
