On the occasion of the International Day Against Trafficking (IDAT), the Ninoy Aquino International Airport Task Force Against Trafficking (NAIATFAT) proudly joined hands with our esteemed partners and stakeholders, to amplify the fight against human trafficking. This collaborative effort underscores our collective commitment to raising awareness, fostering cooperation, and providing support to the vulnerable.
Our activities for the day were both impactful and inclusive:
1. Distribution of Campaign Materials:
To reach a broader audience, we distributed informative campaign materials to passengers and frontliners, spreading critical awareness about trafficking in persons (TIP). These materials served as a tool to educate and empower individuals on how to recognize, report, and prevent trafficking activities.
2. TIP Awareness Campaign for Frontliners and CAAP GAD Focal Persons:
Frontline workers and Gender and Development (GAD) Focal Persons of the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) participated in an awareness campaign tailored to equip them with the knowledge and skills necessary to detect and respond to potential trafficking situations within their roles.
3. Coordination Meeting with Stakeholders:
A significant highlight of the day was a coordination meeting attended by NAIATFAT prosecutors, partners, and stakeholders, including key agencies such as BI-IPROBES, DSWD, NBI-IAID, PNP-AVSEU, PNP-WCPC, CFO, DMW, DOJ-RSPPU, IOM, the International Justice Mission, and PAOCC. This dialogue fostered inter-agency collaboration and reaffirmed our shared goals in combating trafficking.
4. Food-Giving to Asylum Seekers:
Recognizing the plight of asylum seekers, we conducted a food-giving activity, providing essential sustenance and a message of hope and solidarity to those seeking refuge and safety.
5. Active Participation of NAIATFAT Partners:
Our celebration was further enriched by the active involvement of NAIATFAT partners who, together, brought their expertise, resources, and unwavering dedication to the cause.
This day was not only a reminder of the ongoing challenges in eradicating trafficking but also a testament to the power of unity and collaboration. As we continue to strengthen our efforts, we remain steadfast in our mission to protect the most vulnerable and ensure that no one falls victim to exploitation.
Together, let us continue to stand against trafficking in persons, advocate for justice, and support the survivors in rebuilding their lives.
