SOJ Guevarra grants Acting PG Catalan, Jr.'s request to be relieved from his post

DOJ Secretary Menardo I. Guevarra has granted the request of Makati City Prosecutor Jorge G. Catalan, Jr. to be relieved of his duties as Acting Prosecutor General of the National Prosecution Service (NPS), effective at the close of office hours on 29 June 2018, so that he may focus on his responsibilities as City Prosecutor of Makati City.

City Prosecutor Catalan, Jr. was designated as Acting Prosecutor General pursuant to Department Order No. 394 dated 09 June 2017 signed by former DOJ Secretary Vitaliano N. Aguirre II.

In this regard, Secretary Guevarra has designated Senior Deputy State Prosecutor Richard Anthony D. Fadullon as Officer-in-Charge (OIC) of the Office of the Prosecutor General effective 30 June 2018 until a new Prosecutor General is appointed by the President.

Secretary Guevarra further stated that new key appointments at the DOJ will be announced in the next few days.
